WONDERFUL DAY!!

Few of you have heard of Wonderfully Made Salon and Boutique in Worthington. Today the Alliance had the honor to host a ribbon cutting for this new business and to welcome Madison Mauk to the business owners club! I have been participating in grand openings for years, even decades, now and there is something special when you see the look in someone’s eyes that say “It starts today and I am going to make it happen”. This is the part of being an entrepreneur that you can’t teach. That burning in the belly that they have the recipe, drive, and passion to start their own business in their vision.

Each one of you should visit 916 Market Street in Worthington. Madison’s business is small but, it’s loaded with cool hand made jewelry, beauty salon, and even some vintage clothing. More then anything, it’s perfect. It’s hers and her vision. We need more of this vision in this age of “buy it online” and we know that someone else probably has this vision as well.

From this ribbon cutting I have already received an email from someone that was there saying thank you for the words and support the Alliance shared. They wanted to know if we help people start their own business. The answer is yes! We can and will help. If we aren’t the perfect source of information or help, we have the partnerships to link people to the help they need to find their way. It was a cool day to share with a great young lady. Judge/Executive Bobby Carpenter joined the crowd for this great event. I wish each one of you could have felt the energy that Madison has for her business.

Yesterday the Alliance partnered with Smokin’ J’s Rib and Brewhouse right off US 60 in Summit. The afterhours event featured great food and drink and had a large turnout. It is always nice to get out and serve the entire business community. I think everyone that was there enjoyed the hospitality and great food. Summer is a special time in this region. Anytime you get a chance to come out to one of the Business After Hours please do. It is a fabulous way to unwind, meet some new people, and network with business like yours around the area.

Today we are proud to announce the Ashland Alliance Annual Meeting and Regional Celebration is scheduled for October 5th. This year will be bigger and better than last year!!!!! We are having the event in downtown Ashland and want to highlight the community we call home. Details to come next week. This is an event not to miss.

Finally, please keep one member of the Alliance family in your prayers. Ms. Paula is having surgery today and she is just a special lady to everyone that knows her. For 40 years she has been the rock of this organization. We want her back as soon as we can… Paula….we love you.
