ASHLAND, Ky. — The Ashland Alliance is pleased to announce the 40th Annual Community Leadership Development Program schedule is complete, and registrations are now being accepted. The 2019 theme is “Bridging Leadership for 40 Years”

It will take place September 4,11,18, 25, October 2, 9,16, & 25. Day 1, September 4 will begin with a half-day of leadership activities, and a few tours. The program will wrap-up with a leadership workshop and graduation luncheon on October 25.

Each day features different, behind-the-scenes explorations of business, government, education, cultural aspects of our community and a 30 minute leadership component. These are presented through speakers, forums, field trips, training exercises and other activities.

CLD was the first leadership program in the state and has been successful since its inception in 1979. This is the premier program for new employees, individuals who have recently relocated or returned to our area and for lifelong residents to make valuable business contacts and become familiar with our region in a casual environment and acquire additional leadership skills.

CLD’s six major goals are:

  • developing leadership skills
  • developing a better-informed citizenry
  • providing a unique networking opportunity for area business people
  • promoting community pride
  • promoting a sense of civic responsibility among business leaders, and
  • fostering potential volunteers and supporters for the Alliance and other non-profit agencies

Participants in the program gain a greater understanding of the resources available in our community and develop deeper insights into the issues facing our region.

We urge you to apply or to designate a key employee to participate in this program. Registration is limited to forty (40), so please send your application in as soon as possible.
